Fields set for Tomahawk Relays
Girls compete Friday, boys on Saturday
The fields are set for the 2010 Cherokee Washington High Tomahawk Relays scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the beautiful all-weather track at George Hicks Field.
There will be two classes again this year, featuring Class 1A and 2A competitions for both boys and girls.
The girls Tomahawk Relays begin at 5 p.m. Friday, and the boys run at 11 a.m. Saturday.
There are 13 girls teams featured in Class 1A, including host Cherokee Washington High, Aurelia, Ridge View, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, South O'Brien, Alta, Pocahontas Area, Central Lyon, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Emmetsburg, East Sac County, Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove, and Estherville-LC.
The eight Class 2A girls teams include MOC-Floyd Valley, Spirit Lake, Spencer, Le Mars, Storm Lake, Sioux City Heelan, Sioux City West, and Sioux City North.
In boys Class 1A, there are eight teams entered, including Cherokee, Aurelia, Ridge View, MMC, Alta, Central Lyon, South O'Brien, and HMS.
In boys 2A the eight teams entered include Spirit Lake, MOC-FV, Spencer, Le Mars, Storm Lake, and Sioux City schools Heelan, West, and North.
