Chamber's'Best of Cherokee' Photo Contest now underway

The Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Promotions Team is seeking entries for the "Best of Cherokee" Photography Contest.

The photos should illustrate life in Cherokee and possibly attract someone to visit or relocate to Cherokee.

The contest started on April 1 and ends September 30. Photos will be judged by a jury panel and the winning photograph will be made into a special edition, Cherokee Postcard which will be sold by the Chamber of Commerce.

Rules for the Photography contest include:

*All photographs must be taken inside the Cherokee city limits.

*Entries must be original photos taken by the entrant.

*An individual can enter no more than two pictures into the contest.

*Participants can be of any age.

*You do not need to live in Cherokee to enter.

*The Chamber of Commerce Promotions Team can reject entries for any reason.

All Pictures should be submitted on CD or e-mailed to the Chamber Office in a .jpg file. CDs should be labeled and be accompanied by the entry form. E-mailed entries should be accompanied by information requested on the entry form.

Because the winning photograph will be reprinted and sold in the form of a postcard, photos of people will require a signed release from those in the photo. The release forms are available at the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce office.
