To spread the word that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, several local organizations - including Parent Partners, M.O.M.'s, Family Circles, and Cherokee Healthy Families - recently met on the Cherokee Courthouse lawn to remind Cherokee County that "protecting children is a community's responsibilty." The "Pinwheels for Prevention" were "planted" by group members in the shape of the "Prevent Child Abuse Ribbon." The groups hope that this display will increase public awareness that child abuse can be prevented and that it "takes a village to raise a child."
