The first round of the Northwest Conference girls golf tournament was played on the Aurelia Golf Club course on Tuesday.
The Alta girls took team honors with a team total of 195 strokes, led by meet medalist Annie Andersson's round of 46 and runner-up medalist Courtney Van Haaften's 49. Sioux Central finished second, with a team total of 228.
Newell-Fonda was third with a 232, Laurens-Marathon fourth (235) and Storm Lake St. Mary's finished fifth, with a team total of 269.
The host Aurelia team did not enter the team competition. Amanda Swanson, the only Aurelia girl who played, shot a round of 60.
