Effective May 1, 2010, Cherokee Regional Medical Center will suspend its valet parking service indefinitely.
Originally implemented to help with the limited parking available during the most recent construction project, CRMC decided to extend the service during the inclement winter months. However, there has been a steady drop in the number of customers taking advantage of the free service.
John Schneider, Director of Support Services at CRMC, attributes the decline of usage to a couple of reasons. "With the abundance of parking now available after the completion of the construction project and the arrival of warmer weather, we just do not see customers opting to use the valet parking as frequently," said Schneider. "We will re-evaluate the program in the future, and perhaps we will be able to justify offering the service again on a limited basis during the winter months," added Schneider.
With the service coming to an end, CRMC thanks everyone who assisted with the valet parking over the past 18 months. The dedication of employees and community volunteers who were able to help provide this quality service to the customers of CRMC is greatly appreciated.
