Cherokee girls win golf triangular

The Cherokee Washington High girls golf team found its home course friendly here Tuesday night, waltzing to an easy win in a Lakes Conference triangular also featuring Spencer and Storm Lake.

Cherokee carded a 201 to runner-up Spencer's 227, and Storm Lake's 289.

Jessica Cook led Cherokee with a 45 to earn medalist honors, and her teammate Danielle Hansen was co-runner-up medalist with a 51. Spencer's Taylor Studer also carded a 51.

Other scores for the WHS lasses were Emily Cook 52, Kelsey Ludwig 53, Amanda Callahan 54, and Alli Curry 60.

IN JV action for Cherokee, Brooke Luetkeman was medalist with a 55 as Spencer defeated Cherokee 257-265. Storm Lake did not field a full JV squad.

The Cherokee varsity girls are now 4-1 in Lakes Conference action, and 11-4 over all this season.
