SIBLEY - The Cherokee Washington High girls golf team placed fourth at the Sibley-Ocheyedan Invitational here Tuesday night won by Spirit Lake which carded a 181 team score.
Okoboji was second with a 186, followed by le Mars 195, Cherokee 201, George-Little Rock 212, Sibley-Ocheyedan 214, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 215, Central Lyon 218, and Estherville-LC 224.
Kiley Wermersen of Okoboji was meet medalist with a 39 and Cherokee's Jessica Cook was runner-up with a 42.
Other scores for Cherokee included Amanda Callahan 51, Emily Cook 53, Danielle Hansen 55, Kelsey Ludwig 56, and Alli Curry 57.
"We have been playing some pretty consistent golf in recent meets," said Cherokee coach Heath Hagberg. "Jess Cook has been turning in some really good scores and providing some great leadership for our team.
"We have our Lakes Conference meet Monday (Okoboji Vu) and if we can continue to improve just a stroke or two per player, we should make a very competitive showing."
