Roger was born on Dec. 8, 1932 at Meriden to Ralph and Agnetta (Klechner) Ducommun. He graduated from Cleghorn High School in 1950.

He had farmed most of his life, milked cows and did custom work. He retired from farming in the early 1980's. He then drove truck for Wetherell Manufacturing until 1992. He spent the last 35 years with Susan Ducommun Briese. Politics and racing were his main interests.

He liked NASCAR Racing, with his favorite driver being Terry LaBonte back in the days and Kyle Busch in recent years. But his main love was dirt track racing, where he was a car owner for very many successful years.

He continued to enjoy modified racing, helping his son Jason and seeing all his friends at the track. He will be missed. He had the most admiration and love for his grandmother Mrs. Emil (Mary) Ducommun. No one compared to her.

He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by Susan Briese, his four children: Greg (Becky) Ducommun of Barstow, Calif.; Mike Ducommun of Reno, Nevada; Jill (Bob) Thompson of Leesburg, Fla.; Jason Briese of Cleghorn, and his special friend Kathie Brown; four grandchildren: Tim, Meaghan and Mike Ducommun of New York and Jessica Ducommun of Barstow, Calif.; one aunt Nolie Stieneke and her husband Ronald of Sioux City; mother-in-law Phyllis Briese of Meriden; brothers-in-law: Lonnie Briese of Hartford, S.D.; Randy Briese of Sioux Falls, S.D. and sister-in-law Janell Purdy of Beggs, Okla.; special friend of the family Sheri.
