Blackhawks take Heartland Boys Meet

MARCUS - The Hinton boys won the boys' section of Tuesday's Heartland Co-Ed Relays here, scoring 174 points to top Akron-Westfield by 20 points in the team standings.

Storm Lake St. Mary's was third, followed by West Sioux and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn (tied with 44 points each) and Aurelia (8 points).

MMC's Jay Welp won the 3200 meters in a time of 10:39.62 and the MMC medley relay also took home first-place with their time of 3:50.19.

MMC took third in both the 4 x 800 relay, in a time of 9:46.52, and the 4 x 200, in a time of 1:41.75. They were fourth in the 4 x 400, in 4:08.23. The Eagles' Mitch Brady was sixth in he 400 hurdles, in a time of 1:12.24; Jake Meehan was sixth in the 200 (26.53); Derek Simonsen sixth in the 1600 (6:09,20); and Colin Sears sixth in the 400 meters (1:00.88).

Aurelia's Elliot Zadow placed sixth in the discus with his throw of 96-2 and his teammate Zach Nixon was sixth in the shot put, heaving the ball 36-1.

The Bulldogs' Evan Laursen was third in the 1600 meters, in a time of 5:49.91.
