Wishing them a fond farewell

Thursday, May 13, 2010

During a student assembly on Wednesday at Cherokee Washington High School, three retiring teachers, Gayle Cedar, Jan Cook and David Zelle, were brought up on stage for a fond farewell tribute from the students who wished their teachers good luck and many thanks for their many years of service at Washington High School. Pictured, left to right, are Devynne Reis, Event Organizer; Gayle Cedar, Spanish Teacher; John Cook, Jan Cook, Human/Business Communication Teacher; Leslie Schroeder, Retired WHS P.E./Health Teacher; David Zelle, Geometry and Consumer Math Teacher; and Ruth Hayes, Retired WHS English Teacher. Congratulations and farewell to Mr. Zelle, my favorite math teacher of all time! I work as a computer animator, and every time I write a mathematical function in Flash ActionScript, I think of him. Thank you, Mr. Zelle, for enriching our lives and enlightening our minds so much over the years.
