The Spring Rally of the Lutheran Women Missionary League was held recently at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee.
The evening began at 6 p.m. with registration, and coffee and desserts served by Host Society. The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. and the theme was "Mission Work in Haiti." The opening and closing devotions and Memorial Rememberance for recently deceased members were given by Zone Counselor, Pastor Larry Lemke of Aurelia.
The program was presented by Rich Feilmeier of Early. He and his college-age daughter Ellie were on a mission trip to Haiti last summer, where they participated in VBS classes and other projects in an orpohanage, school, and church.
The Leader Development and Human Care Committee leaders presented a skip entitled "My Many Hats."
One of the guests was Marilyn Schroeder, President of Iowa District West LWML. She gave an update on various District plans and programs and encouraged everyone to make plans to attend the IDW Convention at Camp Okoboji in June.
The monetary ingathering and offering collected was designated to go to Haiti Mission Work.
The Fall Rally will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus.
