It's that time again. Time to think about all the fun summertime brings.
Don't forget to include the Cherokee Public Library in your summertime fun.
There are three big events happening as part of the summer reading program, MAKE A SPLASH --- READ. Thursday, June 3, The Bassmeister, Curt Strutz will present "Fishing for Laughs" at 10 a.m. on the lower level of the Cherokee Community Center. The fishing comedy show is informative in basic fishing skills and water safety-but provides a variety of different entertainment including audience participation, ventriloquism, clean humor, puppetry, illusions and hilarious visual props.
Lisa Laird and her friends at "Pockets Full of Fun" will be presenting a fun-filled program with ventriloquism, magic tricks, stories and music. There will be prizes for everyone. Be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, July 2. The fun will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Sanford Museum.
Indiana Bones: Keeper of Legends, a professional storyteller will be joined by his pet dragon "Draco the Sea Serpent" as they share stories from the seas, dig up old Greek Myths of Poseidon "Master of the Waves" and other Greek Heroes. Bring your whole family on Thursday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the upper level of the Cherokee Community Center.
The theme for our Summer Reading Program is MAKE A SPLASH --- READ. The kick-off program will be Thursday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sanford Museum. Lisa Laird and her puppet friends will share stories, magic tricks, and music.
The programs at the library will be held every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month of July. Tuesday's programs will be for Pre-school- 2nd graders and the Thursday's programs will be for 3rd-6th grade. The themes for each week are as follows: "An Ocean of Fun," "High Seas Adventures" and "Splish Splash Summer." The finale will be July 27 with a swimming pool party. Watch for more details in our June newsletter and plan on joining us at the library for some splish splash fun.
Preschool Story Time is every Thuesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Join us this month for 30 minutes of stories, finger plays, a craft, and lots of shared fun. We will not have Preschool Story Time in the month of June. But be sure to join us during the Summer Reading Program.
