The Cherokee Knights of Columbus have been selling "Money calendars" for 18 years. Each year the Knights donate the money generated from sales of the calendars to worthy causes, with five $200 scholarships going to area high school seniors and $1500 to two designated area organizations.
Recently, LeRoy Rupp and Mike Robinson, representing the Cherokee Knights of Columbus, presented one check for $750 to the Cherokee Rotary Club and another check, also in the amount of $750, to the Cherokee Washington High School Booster Club.
The Rotary Club has earmarked the donated funds for continuation of their successful "Weekend Back Pack Lunch" Program for K-4 students, while the Booster Club plans to use the money to purchase "Possession" clocks for the end zones at the WHS George Hicks Field.
