CLEGHORN - Art Scheskie, Spokesman for Hussmann-Taylor Industries of Cleghorn, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand Air Solutions of Davison, N.C., has announced that the plant in Cleghorn will be closing on July 30.

Hussman/Taylor is a wholesale refrigeration equipment company that refurbishes refrigerated display cases found in supermarkets, restaurants, and convenient stores. Scheskie said operations at the Cleghorn plant will be moved to the company's operation in Urbandale.

The closing will affect seven employees. Two will remain in the area to continue service calls, while the other five will be displaced. The company notified the affected employees on May 18 when officials met with the staff in Cleghorn.

Scheskie stated that there are company polices of separation in place for the affected employees.

"We're trying to handle this closure as fairly and sensitively as we can," said Scheskie.

Scheskie stated that the closure is part of the company's decision to consolidate efforts to remain competitive in today's business environment. "It's hard to make these kind of decisions, especially when if affects people that you know," said Scheskie.

On July 30, the company's lease will be up on the building, which is located on Iowa Highway 3 in Cleghorn. The building will be available to rent, according to Scheskie.
