Cherokee Farmers Market starts Thursday

Fresh foods and handmade arts and crafts will be available at the kick-off of the Cherokee Area Farmers Market (CAFM) beginning Thurdsay from 4- 6:30 p.m. at the Railroad Depot in Cherokee.

Produce featured at the market is only Iowa grown, produced in Cherokee County or in the adjoining counties of Buena Vista, Clay, Ida, O'Brien, Plymouth, Sac, Sioux and Woodbury.

Arts and crafts items will also be available at the market. The items, made with skill, artistry and precision, are sold at the CAFM by the area artists who created the items.

The CAFM season will continue from June through September. During the season, a farmers market will take place at the Depot every Thursday from 4 - 6:30 p.m.

Vendors fees for the CAFM are $30 for the entire season or $5 per market day.
