The Marcus Historical Society is going to host an event, "Remembering 1971-The Marcus Centennial Pageant" with photos and information to relive the event that marked Marcus' 100th birthday.
The event, Historical Society Guest Day, is to take place on Saturday, June 19 at the Faith Lutheran church at 1:30 p.m.
Also, there will be a display of antique jewelry and various accessories, plus neat candy dishes and bowls. The committee is looking forward to this event as last year's Victorian Tea was thoroughly enjoyed.
The committee is hoping men as well as the ladies will enjoy this program in an attempt to share the town's heritage and recall that wonderful event back in 1971. The pageant at that time was put on twice for all to see with a wide array of people playing roles of the community. It will be fun to see how youthful the participants were then and pick out your family and friends who were in it from viewing the slides.
On the committee is Bonnie Huseman, Faith Specht, Betty Moser, Pat Ducommun, Sheree Ogren, Mary Peterson, Linda Spieler, Joanne Johnson and Nancy Hohbach. A dessert sample bar with a choice of desserts will be served.
