The Ridge View Raptors lost a heart-breaking Western Valley Conference softball game to Woodbury Central by the score of 4-3 in 8 innings.
Taking the hard luck loss on the mound was Jaime Christensen, who pitched 7 2/3 innings, giving up eight hits and two earned runs , while issuing one walk and striking out two. Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said, "Jaime continues to throw well for us, and has been mixing up her pitches well. "
Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Emily Schiernbeck, who went 2-4 with a double, triple and one run batted in; Brea Skaybaugh, who went 2-4, stole a base and scored a run; and Dana Hustedt, who went 1-3 with a double and an RBI.
Coach Phelps said that the coaches were happy with the effort , and how the kids played a whole game and kept battling back and forth. He said the coaches are "seeing improvement up and down the line-up. "
