Ridge View boys lose to Westwood

Monday, June 7, 2010

SLOAN - In the words of their coach Shannon Tesch, the Ridge View Raptors baseball squad looked "very flat - not a lot of energy," in losing a 15-0, 4-inning Western Valley Conference game to Westwood at Sloan on Thursday night.

Tesch said that Westwood pitcher Alex Gosch, who struck out 11 and allowed just one hit, "throws hard and has a good curveball to go with it."

Gabe Wingert led Westwood at the plate with two doubles, a grand slam and six RBI. The Rebels had eight hits as a team, but the Raptors also committed six errors to contribute to Westwood's one-sided victory.

Seth Johnson got the Raptors' lone hit, a single.

Tesch said. "Our bats still need some work. We just need to get some more at-bats."

Ridge View 's record is now 1-2.
