Donna Fay Morrow, 82, of Larrabee, formerly of Cherokee, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at her home in Larrabee.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Don Agostine will officiate. Burial of her ashes along with those of her son, Ike Morrow, will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Donna was born June 11, 1927 at Boaz, Wis. to Fay and Helen (Reed) Morton. She attended Cherokee Schools. She was married to Frankie Morrow on Jan. 22, 1946 at Dakota City, Neb.
She had worked in various nursing homes and at K-Products, retiring in 1984. Following the couple's retirement, she and Frankie babysat for many families and enjoyed the children. She had lived in Larrabee for the past 10 years, prior to this in Cherokee for many years and also in Centerville, South Dakota She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and squirrels, camping, crocheting, loved to go to Martin's Access and visiting with family and friends. Donna loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and she always said she had a very caring and loving family. She would also let you know what she thought and her motto was "If you think it, you just as well say it."
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, a daughter Linda Poll in 2009, son Ike Morrow in 2010, son-in-law Bill Strahmann in 1998, brothers Fred Townsend and his wife Arlene, LeRoy Morton and his wife Wilma, Jim Morton, Bob Morton, Norman Morton, a sister Velda Watkins and her husband Alvin.
She is survived by her family; a son-in-law Don Poll of Centerville, South Dakota; son Frank Morrow Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Cherokee; daughter-in-law Deb Morrow of Larrabee; daughter Cindy Strahmann of Larrabee; daughter Bonnie Lambert of Augusta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren: Ed and Angie Poll of Centerville, S.D.; Becky and Jake Irwin of Vermillion, S.D.; Wendy and Deloy Bruce of Aurelia; Dave and Kallie Morrow of Cherokee; Missy and Larry Eberly of Cherokee; Amy Booher of Holstein; Joe Strahmann of Cherokee; Audrianna Lambert of Augusta Ga.; Andrea Lambert of Augusta, Ga.; 16 great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Lou Meller and her husband Jack of Solon Springs, Wis.; sister-in-law Shirley Morton of Boise, Idaho; sister-in-law Betty Morton of Onawa; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and DeWayne Houser of Mitchell, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law Dwight "Oley" and Rose Morrow of Herman, Neb.; also many nieces and nephews
