IC Catholic Church Plans Welcome Coffee for New Members

Friday, June 11, 2010

Left to Right: Mary Berger, Norma Clark and Mary Berg make plans for the Welcome Coffee to be held for new parishioners at IC Church on June 13.
If you want people to feel like they belong, the first ingredient needed is a community of people who want to welcome them.

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will host a welcome coffee for members from Quimby and all new members on Sunday June 13 following the 8:45 a.m. Mass.

Parishioners from the recently closed St. John's Catholic Church in Quimby have been part of the IC Catholic Church for several months. The new members have prayed at liturgy, served as liturgical ministers, joined committees, sent their children to faith formation, and had their pictures taken for the new parish directory.

But it takes time for people to get to know each other.

The coffee will provide an opportunity for those new to the parish and those who have been long-time members to sit down with coffee and cake and become acquainted.
