Ridge View continued to play solid ball as they defeated Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove, 4-3, in Western Valley Conference softball action Wednesday., as the Raptors got timely hitting in the bottom of the seventh inning for the second time in three nights.
Leading the way again on the mound for Ridge View was senior Jaime Christensen, who pitched all seven innings , giving up five hits and three unearned runs. At the plate, junior Emily Schiernbeck went 4-4 and had the game - winning RBI , her second ribbie of the game. Brea Slaybaugh went 3-4, scored three runs, and also had three stolen bases. Dana Hustedt and Kaitlin Wulf each drove in one run.
Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said, "The coaches were happy with the kids and how they continue to battle back 'til the end every game. Our pitchers continue to throw strikes, and for the most part we are playing well defensively. Our young kids continue to show improvement each and every time out , and that will all help down the road.: Ridge View is now 3-3 in the conference and 6-5 overall, and they hosted Newell-Fonda on Thursday.
