Raptors give rated N-F a tough test

GALVA - The Ridge View Raptors hosted the highly ranked Newell-Fonda Mustangs at the Galva field on Thursday in non-conference softball action, and Ridge View came out on the losing end of a hard fought, 3-1 game.

Taking the loss on the mound for Ridge View was freshmen Dana Hustedt, who pitched a good game, giving up three earned runs on seven hits while issuing three walks and striking out three.

Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Emily Schiernbeck, who went 2-3, and Katie Boyle, who had an RBI.

Coach Scott Phelps said that he and the other Raptors coaches were very happy and proud of their team for their continued hard work and play, and said that they were extremely happy about how the defense has been playing, as the Raptors played errorless ball againist a hard-hitting team on Thursday.

Ridge View sports a 6-6 overall record and stand 3-3 in the Western Valley Conference.
