Goodwill donations reach 21,000 pounds in Cherokee

Monday, June 14, 2010

Goodwill Industries of Sioux City takes this opportunity to thank the many donors who contributed to the recent May Ambassador Drive in Cherokee.

During the last Abassador Drive, community volunteers helped to collect 21,000 pounds of donated materials which will be distributed to any or all of 16 Goodwill Regional Store locations.

Cherokee's next Ambassador Trailer will arrive September 15.

The donations enable Goodwill to provide services to more than 200 program participants in a variety of locations. The donations also serve to provide jobs to 400 Goodwill employees in four states.

Goodwill accepts donations of sellable clothing, usuable working small appliances, and household goods, sporting goods, and toys. Place donations as far to the front of the trailer as possible. Furniture and large appliances will not be accepted.

Goodwill is a non-profit organization and through its many programs provides services for people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions and employment barriers.
