The busy South O'Brien baseball team rolled past three War Eagle Conference foes recently, beating Akron-Westfield 12-3 in Akron, bombing Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn 19-3 in Paullina, and claiming an 8-3 win over Le Mars Gehlen in Paullina.
Chas Biery got the win over A-W, pitching six innings and allowing one earned run on six hits, with five strikeouts. Jarod Syndergaard pitched one inning and gave up one earned run on two hits and two Ks.
Zane Roberts and Jimmy Callahan each had two hits and two RBI for the Wolverines, while Trevor Lansink had a home run and four RBI, and Tanner Mattews a home run.
Mike Faust went the distance in the win over MMC, allowing three runs on seven hits with two Ks in four innings.
The Wolverines belted two home runs in the game, with Faust and Lansink providing that power. Faust and Syndergaard had three RBI apiece in the rout.
Brock Moser, Tanner Utesch, and Andrew Hoefling had one hit and one RBI each to lead the Eagles at the plate.
Ryan Brasser got the pitching win for SOS in the win over Gehlen, allowing one run on five hits with 11 Ks in six innings. Adam Paulsen pitched one inning and struck out the side.
Tanner Matthews led the Wolverines with a home run and three RBI, while Faust was 4-4, Callahan 2-3, and Syndergaard 1-3 with three RBI.
