The Cherokee batters could not solve the pitching of Le Mars hurler J. Heidebrink, who limited them to two runs on four hits and six strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Shanon Shaefer took the pitching loss for Cherokee, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits and five walks and one wild pitch in seven innings.
For the WHS girls at the plate, Sarah Ruehle was 1-3 with a run scored, Taylor Woods 1-3 with an RBI, and Jackie Wilson 1-3.
Emily Anderson, a former Cherokee athlete, led the Bulldogs on offense with a 2-3 effort, four runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Le Mars now boasts a 10-6 overall record and a 5-2 Lakes Conference chart. Cherokee is now 3-11 over all and 0-7 in the conference.
Cherokee hosts Spencer Monday night, and travels to Sheldon Tuesday and Estherville-LC Wednesday.
