AURELIA - The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Lady Eagles topped the host Aurelia Bulldog girls, 14-5, in non-conference softball action here on Tuesday. It was the fourth straight win for MMC, which is now 13-6 on the season.
Third baseman Mariah Walton, first baseman Jackie Holmes, and left fielder Carly Lehnhoff stroked three hits apiece to lead the Lady Eagles' 18-hit attack, with Walton driving in three runs and shortstop Erica Dreckman driving in two.
Kayla Foresman started on the mound for MMC and went two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two before she was relieved by Stephanie Specht, who pitched the final five innings, picking up the win while allowing eight hits and three earned runs.

Erin Laursen went the distance on the mound for the Bulldogs and she and shortstop Audrey Winterhof both went 3-4 at the plate and scored two runs. Laursen also drove in two runs, as did fellow senior Heather Ballantyne. Gracie Winterhof had two hits for the Bulldogs, whose overall record dropped to 5-9.
