The South O'Brien Wolverines baseball squad had a rough week, as they dropped games to three War Eagle Conference rivals. Last Tuesday, they fell to Remsen-Union 6-3, with Chas Biery taking the loss for the Wolverines. Catcher Pete Matthews drove in two of the SOS runs as he, Trevor Lansink and Tanner Matthews had two hits apiece for the Wolverines.
On Friday, South O'Brien gave up four runs in the first four innings and couldn't come back against Sergeant Bluff-Luton, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Class 3A Warriors. On Monday, the Wolverines got behind early again, trailing 6-2 going into the bottom of the 7th. Their four run rally in the bottom half of the 7th fell just short, as they fell to Remsen St. Mary's, 7-6. Pete Matthews and Jarod Syndergaard each had two hits for SOS and Jimmy Callahan and Matthews each drove in two runs.
