The Cherokee Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 5K Run/Walk on July 3 at 8:30 a.m. as part of the Little Sioux Summer Festival activities in Cherokee.
Participants will have the opportunity to take a stroll around the scenic grounds of the Cherokee Mental Health Institute, located on 1200 West Cedar Street in Cherokee. The course will be a loop of gently rolling gravel with a 1/8 mile concrete start and finish.
Water will be available at the mile markers along the 3.1 mile course.
T-shirts will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, and several door prizes will be awarded to 5K participants.
To register for the event, entry forms are available at the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce. Entry forms can be turned in with the $5 entry fee from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. the morning of the race.
No pre-registration is required; however, the Chamber asks that participants planning to attend the run/walk e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The race is simply one of the activites taking place in Cherokee during the LIttle Sioux Summer Festival on July 3 and 4. There will be children's games, art booths, disc golf, a car show and several other activities offering a fun way to celebrate the Fourth.
