Thursday, July 1, 2010

The Red Cross has provided flood clean up kits, water, bug spray, and information to residents affected by the flooding. The Red Cross is set up at the Cherokee Fire Station to hand out clean up kits and information. If further assistance is needed, call 800-340-4081.

City Administrator Don Eikmeier asks citizens to contact City Hall to advise if they had damages to their home or business.

County Emergency Management and the City are looking to document all damages, including private property, so that Cherokee can prove its case for assistance from the State and Federal governments.

Eikmeier asks all citizens to call in their damages- regardless of whether they need assistance or not.

Kirschbaum can be reached at (712) 253-1578 in Sheldon.
