STORM LAKE - The young Cherokee Washington High softball squad dropped a 10-0 Lakes Conference game at Storm Lake Wednesday night as Tornado hurler Blum fired a no-hit shut-out in six innings of work.

Blum faced just 18 Cherokee batters in six innings and struck out five while dialing up her no-hitter.

Shanon Shaefer took the pitching loss for Cherokee, giving up seven earned runs on 12 hits and six walks, while striking out one in six innings of work.

Braun was 2-3 with a home run and three RBI to pace the Storm Lake offense.

The WHS girls play at Carroll Kuemper today and now post a 5-20 season record and an 0-12 Lakes Conference mark. Storm Lake is now 8-12 over all and 6-6 in the conference.
