CSWCD to host Conservation Tour

The Cherokee Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host its annual Conservation Tour on Tuesday evening, July 20.

The tour will begin at the Cherokee USDA Service Center, located at 314 Lake St., at 5:10 p.m. The commissioners cordially welcome your participation.

Tour participants will observe the following structures and practices: waste storage facility, electrical generation, seasonal high tunnels, wastewater irrigation, and two windbreaks (REAP and CRP).

The tour will conclude with supper served at a remodeled barn, courtesy of the Cherokee SWCD.

If you would like to participate in the tour please notify Tracy Rasmussen at 712-225-4151, preferably by Tuesday, July 13.

Additionally, individuals with disabilities and/or special needs should notify Tracy of their need for special services by July 13 to enable services to be secured.
