Tractor ride around Cherokee County

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Sit back, relax on your tractor, and enjoy a slow and scenic view of Cherokee County during TRACC, the Tractor Ride Around Cherokee County.

Everyone is invited to join the free tractor ride on Sunday, July 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Cherokee County Fair Grounds.

At the start of the ride, participants will be photographed with their tractors in front of the Cherokee County Fair sign by a fair board member. A free print of the photograph will be ready for riders as they return to the fairgrounds at the end of the ride.

The route for the ride will follow the river south out of Cherokee on L56 before turning west on C44. The tractors will continue on C44 before turning north toward Cleghorn on L40. The ride will then travel east on C16 toward Martin's Access where lunch will be served.

After lunch, participants will ride south on M21 and travel through Aurelia before turning west and returning to the Cherokee fairgrounds around 2:30 p.m.

The majority of the route consists of black-top roads, with only a short jog of gravel traveling to-and-from Martin's Access.

A snack break will take place at the Cleghorn Fire Station and The Family Table will be serving lunch at Martin's Access at a cost of $7 per person.

Rain or shine, the Cherokee County Fair invites each tractor and rider to make 'traccs' and enjoy a relaxing ride through Cherokee County.
