Cash reward offered for area burglaries information

Friday, July 9, 2010

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, along with the O'Brien County and Plymouth County Sheriff's Departments, are offering a cash reward up to $2,200 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons involved in rural burglaries in Cherokee, O'Brien, and Plymouth counties.

The three Sheriff's departments have been jointly investigating numerous rural burglaries where a number of items - mainly tools - have been taken. The burglaries have taken place at all hours of the day and night.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department asks residents to report any suspicious vehicles - specifically larger vehicles like pickups or vans. When reporting, include a detailed vehicle description including license plate number, color, make, model, etc. if at all possible.

Also, include a physical description of any person associated with that vehicle. It's vital to keep a watchful eye out in your area and communicate with neighbors about things happening in your area, and to communicate that information as soon as possible to the Sheriff's Department.

If you think you see a burglary take place, call 911 immediately.

The respective Sheriff's Department phone numbers are Cherokee County 225-6728, O'Brien County 957-3415, and Plymouth County 546-8191.
