GALVA - The Ridge View softball team finished off the regular season with a 8-0 win over a very young and talented Storm Lake St. Mary's squad here last week.
Picking up the win on the mound for the Raptors was senior Jaime Christensen who pitched a very nice ball game giving up 1 hit with 0 walks and had 4 strikeouts.
Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Dana Hustedt who went 2-4 with a double and had 2 RBI, Jaime Christensen who also went 2-4 with a double and had 2 RBI, Ashley Buell went 2-3 with a RBI ,and Gretchen Kistenmacher also went 2-3 with a RBI.
The coaches are really happy the way the kids have been playing the last few games. "Our pitching has been real solid, our defense has been getting better every game and we have been hitting the ball real well up and down the line-up. We like where our kids are at as we prepare for the upcoming Districts," said Raptors coach Scott Phelps. Ridge View is now 14-15 overall and will play South Central Calhoun tonight in tourney action in Galva.
