MMC team ropers earn NHSFR berth

MARCUS - Cole and Cody Remington, juniors at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School, have earned a position on the Iowa High School Rodeo Team and traveled with the team to Gillette, Wyo. July 18-24 to compete in the 62nd annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) team roping competition.

Featuring over 1,500 contestants from 41 states, five Canadian Provinces, and Australia, the NHSFR is the world's largest rodeo.

In addition to competing for over $200,000 in prizes, NHSFR contestants will also be vying for more than $350,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the NHSFR Champion. To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top 20 after two go-arounds, before advancing to the finals.

The NHSFR is scheduled to air on RFD-TV September 29. Check with www.nhsra.com for possible schedule changes and other times when the 2010 NHSFR telecast will air on RFD-TD. You also can see the NHSFR action live via Horsecity.com on their audio web cast.
