As we look back on the recent Cherokee County Fair, a smile comes to our face. This year's fair was not only successful, but just plain old- fashioned fun.
The Cherokee County Fair Board should be proud of all their hard work in planning and executing this local summer tradition.
The Chronicle Times would like to thank Doris Grashoff for the photographs she shared to help us out in providing our fair coverage. It's great to know that the Fair Board is made up of people who just want to make the fair better for the people who came to enjoy it.
With a tight deadline, the new 4-H Expo Center was completed just in time for the fair. The best word to describe it is, "WOW." So much hard work went into planning and fundraising. Kudos to the community, who came together to donate to and support this special project for the kids.
Brenda Medick and all the hard workers with the County Extension office did an outstanding job of keeping the 4-H'ers busy in the many events. It is through their efforts, that the 4-H program in Cherokee County keeps going strong. The weather at this year's fair was also a blessing, unlike last year's rainy conditions.
Once again , folks visiting the fair had a chance to ride the amusement rides. And if you left the fair without a full belly, it was your own fault. We also thank all the volunteers who helped at this year's fair, if it weren't for them there would be no fair.
So until next year's fair rolls around, the memories of 2010 will keep us happy.
