Cherokee Regional Medical Center is proud to announce Jessica Mattioda as the August "Shining Star." Jessica works in the Medical/Surgery Department as a Nurse Supervisor. "Jessica has a great attitude and a terrific sense of humor. The patients love her not only because she provides quality care, but also because she is a real people person," stated one of her co-workers. Mattioda also has the reputation of being a progressive thinker. This could not be more evident than through her work on a recent project to implement the use of Apple iPads on the Med/Surge floor. Her hard work and research has helped Cherokee Regional Medical Center to become one of the few hospitals in the country to utilize this cutting edge technology. In fact, the CRMC iPad project, lead by Mattioda, recently made the Iowa Hospital Association's web blog-http://blog.iowahospital.org/2010/07/26/a-finger-on-the-future-of-health-care. In the web blog, Chris English the Director of Media and Marketing Strategies for the IHA, describes the CRMC iPad project as "...attempting to boldly go where no medical professional has gone before." A CRMC employee since 2003 and long time Cherokee resident, Mattioda now resides in Moville with her three kids...Tyler-15, Elisa- 12 and Seth-eight. In her free time she enjoys boating, fishing, and spends many nights camping with her family.
