Boosters Golf Tourney on tap

Friday, August 13, 2010

The 8th annual Cherokee Athletic Boosters Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Cherokee Golf & Country Club.

The format is a 4-Person Best Shot, with registration deadline Monday, Aug. 16. Tournament organizers encourage participants to register early so they can plan accordingly for the popular fund-raiser benefiting the Cherokee School athletic programs.

The tiered fund-raiser offers sponsors a lot of bang for the buck, with $1500 Corporate Sponsors including four golfers, meals, a Corporate Sponsor sign at the first hole, and repeat media and event public recognition.

The $750 Half Corporate Sponsor includes two golfers, meals, a Corporate sign listing, and media and event public recognition.

The $300 Hole Sponsor receives your name on a sign at one of the nine holes, and media and event recognition.

The $100 Sign Sponsor receives a listing on the "Friends Of The Braves" sign display at the tournament.

Golfers not included in the Corporate Sponsorships will receive 18 holes of golf, a buffet meal, and various door prizes for just $45 per player.

Area businesses are asked to donate prizes for the event by contacting Dan Winchell (225-5713), Jim Haselhoff (225-4417), Eric Comstock (225-6472) or Brandon Slaughter (229-7718)

The schedule for the day will be a shotgun start at 11 a.m., followed by a bountiful buffet style meal served by Hy-Vee Deli, public recornition of Sponsors, many valuable door prizes awarded, and briefs on their teams from Cherokee coaches.

For more information, contact Winchell at Holzhauer Motors, Ltd. in Cherokee.

Tournament and Registration brochures are available at Holzhauer Motors and the Chronicle Times.
