Fund-raiser planned for Springer family

Monday, August 16, 2010

A fund-raiser for the Fred Springer family of Cherokee is scheduled for Saturday, August 28, at the Cherokee VFW Club and will include a meal and dance with free-will donations.

The Springer family is faced with mounting medical and personal bills resulting from Fred's injuries sustained in a car accident in February and he has been unable to work because of those debilitating injuries sustained in the accident affecting his motor skills.

A dedicated civic volunteer, Springer is well-known for initiating, organizing and working the special free breakfast served at the Depot in the wee hours to musicians and volunteers after the Cherokee Jazz & Blues Festival each January.

Donations are being accepted at Central Bank in Cherokee for the "Fred Springer Benefit Fund" under Jim Adamson's name.

For more information, contact Adamson at 229-9502, or at e-mail jpa91843@q.com.
