Well- known bands to entertain at Hanover Festival

HANOVER - Headlining the 14th Annual Hanover Festival on Aug. 29 are two well-known bands with the usual toe-tapping music for dancing and listening enjoyment.

Both bands have performed at Hanover in the past and are well known for providing great music.

Karl and the Country Dutchmen from Wisconsin have performed nationally and are a popular band in the Midwest. Karl Hartwich has performed in bands since he was 13 years old and had been featured on the Garrison Keillor show.

The Wayne Ripke Band hails from northwest Iowa and is a popular group in the area. Recent performances have included polka church services.

The bands will be playing from noon until 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy this time at Hanover, Southwest of Alta at the Junction of C65 and M27.

Admission is $7.50. You can also view the many displays and demonstrations in the various buildings of the restored Hanover village. Food will be available.
