It's hard to believe that summer is over and it's time to hit the books again.
The Cherokee Public Library will be starting our youth programs beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8 the Preschool Story Time will be back and will run from 10:30 a.m. -- 11 a.m. This program is for children three to five years old and will meet every Tuesday.
During this half hour the children will listen to stories, sing songs, participate in finger plays, and have fun. Crafts will be a part of the program if there is time and it goes with the story time.
The After School Bunch will meet on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The program will start on Sept. 7 and children in kindergarten through 4th grade are welcome to come. Those interested need to ride bus #3 and will be dropped off in front of the library.
Youth In Action will meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The program will start on Tuesday, Sept. 14 for students in 5th and 6th grade. Don't forget to ride bus #3 and the bus driver will drop you off in front of the library. Hope to see you then.
Homeschoolers @ the Library will be on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone who is homeschooling and would like the chance to share ideas and materials with other home schooling families come join us. The library has magazines to help with ideas and many books, reference materials, and DVDs to use and check out.
A Toddler Story Time will meet on the second Saturday of each month. This story time is open to parents and their one or two-year old children. The first story time for toddlers will be Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Moms and dads this will be a chance to spend some special time with your child through stories, learning rhymes to use at home with your child, and games you can play with them when changing their diaper, getting them dressed, or feeding them. So come and discover some new ways to interact with your child.
