Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of the Northwest Iowa Community College District (Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community School District residents) in Cherokee and Plymouth Counties, that a Special Election will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14 from noon until 8 p.m.
Absentee Ballots for the upcoming Special Election are now available in the Cherokee County Auditor's Office, located in the Cherokee County Courthouse at 520 W. Main St., Cherokee, Iowa 51052.
If you will be unable to vote on the scheduled Election Day. then you may stop in or call the Auditor's Office at 225-6704 to receive an absentee request form.
Send your completed Absentee Ballot Request to: The Cherokee County Auditor, 520 W. Main St., Drawer H, Cherokee, Iowa 51012.
The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is Friday. Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. You may vote absentee at the County Auditor's office until 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday, Sept. 13 or you may hand deliver your voted ballot to the Auditor's Office by 8 p.m. the day of the election.
