On Sunday, Labor Day Celebration events continue to roll out, with a Salute Antique Tractor Ride beginning at noon. Then at 1 p.m., the popular Car and Motorcycle Burnout Contest will take place in downtown Sutherland. From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will be a "Park and Shine" event, along with a Cruise and Fun Run.
Bethel Lutheran Church will hold a Ham & Beef supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. another street dance will be held on Main Street in downtown Sutherland, featuring the band Judd Hoos.
Monday's events kick off with the Sutherland Labor Day Parade at 11 a.m. A Volleyball and Horseshoe Tournament will be held at the Sutherland City Park, with registration from noon to 1 p.m.
Also starting at 11 a.m., and continuing until 1 p.m., is the Methodist Church Luncheon. Other events at the Sutherland City Park include games, hot dogs, burgers, mini-doughnuts and a couple of bouncy gyms that are free to children. In addition, local talent will be performing from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Colleen Walters, former Nashville performer, will present her "Tribute to Patsy Cline" from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sutherland City Park.
Starting at 2 p.m., there will be kids' races for "ages 1 through 91," and starting at 3 p.m., local talent Verla Hibbing will be playing her keyboard to entertain the public.
Finishing off the Labor Day Celebration will be a free ice cream bars, provided by Security State Bank at 3:30 p.m.
