Summer is over. Vacations are done.
It's back to school for some learning and fun.
Did I hear some say they needed some books?
Then come to the Cherokee Public Library and take a look.
There are oodles and oodles and oodles of books.
There's one more important school supply your child can find @ your library . . . it's a library card.
September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you or your child don't have a card stop in at the front desk and sign up today. They're free!
Don't forget to pick up a September newsletter. It's filled with programs offered by the library for all ages.
Programs for the youth will begin Tuesday, Sept. 7 with the After School Bunch from 3:45 ñ 4:45 p.m. Children in kindergarten through fourth grade should ride Bus #3 to the library. There will be stories, songs, games, and a snack.
Terrific Toddlers, ages 1 ñ 3 year olds and their parents, will meet at 10:30 ñ 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. There will be songs, fingerplays, rhymes and stories. It's a great time to spend time with your child/children and get acquainted with other parents and their children.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 14 children ages 3 ñ 5 are invited to come to the Preschool Story Time from 10:30 ñ 11 a.m. This group will meet every Tuesday during the school year.
Youth in Action, 5th ñ 6th grade students, will meet Tuesday, Sept. 14 from 3:45 ñ 4:45 p.m. Ride Bus #3 to the library and be ready to be challenged by games from the popular TV show, "Minute to Win It".
The Home Schoolers will meet Thursday, Sept. 23 from 2-3 p.m. All families will have an opportunity to share ideas and compare their resources with each other. Plus check out the library's magazine for home schoolers.
Grandparent's Day is this Sunday. Why not come to the library and check out some of your favourite books to read with grandma and grandpa.
