According to the American Cancer Society, there will be an estimated 1.5 million new cases of cancer diagnosed in 2010. Everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another.
The next three meetings of the Cherokee Area Cancer Support Group will take place on the following Saturdays- Sept. 18, Oct. 16, and Nov. 13. The meetings will be held at the Spice Rack in Cherokee and will begin at 9 a.m. Anyone that has been touched by cancer is welcome to attend.
The format of the meetings will be educational and will include speakers on various topics, group discussions and a time for sharing.
This program is free to the public and is a great opportunity to visit with others affected by cancer. This support group has been organized by Darlene Wiersema and Connie Nelson.
