Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Academic image - Dick Howard and Tracey Sievers recently donated a photograph to the Washta Library that will be guaranteed to send a lot of Washta Consolidated and Willow Community alumni down the academic nostalgic trail. It is an aerial photo of the Washta school building taken in 1975. The picture was presented to librarian Ruby Wych and library trustee Marty Warrender by Tracey Sievers. The picture will now be on display at the Washta Library. Photo by Ron Flewelling
The photograph to the right was donated recently to the Washta Library by Dick Howard and Tracey Sievers. It is an aerial view of the Washta School building, which was erected in 1921 and served the community for 80 years until it was demolished in 2001. The gymnasium, also seen in the picture, was built in 1957.
