Breast Cancer Awareness bicycle ride scheduled

Monday, September 20, 2010

Letsche's Bike Shop in Cherokee is proud to be one of 102 Trek Bicycle Dealers across the United States and Canada that has scheduled a bike ride to help combat breast cancer.

The bike ride will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, starting at 1 p.m. The ride will begin from Letsche's Bike Shop.

There will be both 10 and 25 mile routes scheduled. Entry fee is $25, with all registration fees donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This ride is designed to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by joining forces with women and men of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day all over the country, in the name of breast cancer research.

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. An hour on a bike in fall weather is nothing compared to what individuals with Breast Cancer undergo during the diagnosis and treatment of this terrible disease.

Riders can register through the Trek website (www.trekbikes.com), or they may register at Letsche's Bike Shop by completing a registration form there.

The first 20 peoplewho register will receive a free "Ride for Breast Cancer" t-shirt. Each participant will receive an event gift bag (resusable tote), water bottle, and more. Many fun door prizes will be drawn for the day of the event.

Please contact Letsche's Bike Shop for more information, to register, volunteer, or donate to the event.
