The MMC Eagle defense could not rein in the explosive West Hancock Eagle offense led by fullback Chris Schleuger, who rushed a whopping 34 times for 193 yards and four touchdowns. All told the hosts rushed 83 times for 481 yards while controlling the ball and the game. Ryan Swanson rushed 22 times for 104 yards and a TD, while Zac Schleuger carried the ball 14 times for 84 yards and a TD for the 2-2 Eagles.

This ball control kept the ball out of the hands of the MMC offense and especially sophomore quarterback Tanner Utesch who can light it up through the air with MMC's strong passing attack.

Utesch completed 15 of 29 passes for 185 yards and two TDs, and two interceptions. MMC could muster just 27 yards rushing on 12 carries, with Utesch leading the way with 15 yards on six hauls.

Leading receivers for the visiting Eagles were Brady Dalton four catches for 29 yards, Zach Specht two catches for 40 yards and one TD, Andrew Hoefling three catches for 34 yards, John Hoefling two catches for 56 yards and a TD, and Neal Bunt three catches for 18 yards.

Nathan Zubrod led the MMC defense with an eye-popping 24 tackles, while Bunt tallied 19, Jake Meehan 11, Specht eight, Eli Hohbach seven, Tyler Prunty six, and Dalton five.

MMC hosts District rival Akron-Westfield Friday for Homecoming 2010.
