Careage Hills will host its 4th annual Festival of Tables on Friday, Oct. 8 at the Cherokee Community Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The meal of gourmet chicken or pork loin, twice baked potato casserole, lettuce salad, and dessert will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Pat McGill, a motivational and inspirational speaker, will present "The Salted Ten Commandments."

McGill is witty, intelligent, and entertaining, and her delivery style is comfortable and engaging. She will share the history and background of Salt, Light, Fire, and Wood... and how we are called to be the "Salt of the Earth."

McGill will share some of the "salt highlights" from the book "Same Kind of Different as Me" by a wealthy art dealer name Ron Hall and a homeless man named Denver Moore, in Fort Worth, Texas and how "salt" in one person can make a difference.

McGill will also share a favorite poem "Against Hesitation" by Rafferty, and participants will have an opportunity to look at their own energy color and self-description of their birth date, celebrating their "salt." You are invited to come to "The Salted Tables" as you are and leave inspired.

This year's event will also remember Marilyn Peck, who was instrumental in the coordination of this event in the past three years. Marilyn passed away in February and will long be remembered for her contribution to Careage Hills.

Tickets for this event are $12 and may be purchased from Janet Sullivan at 225-2561.
