Campbell, Pottebaum to appear in Cherokee tonight

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Iowa 5th District Congressional candidate Matt Campbell and Iowa House Senate District 27 candidate Marty Pottebaum will be in Cherokee tonight to meet with area voters. Campbell and Pottebaum will appear at the Cherokee Community Center at 6:30 p.m.

Campbell says, "I'm pleased to be appearing with Marty and greatly respect his 18 years of service on the Sioux City Police Department. Marty previously served on the city council of Sioux City and the Sioux City Transit Board and he will make a fine State Senator."

Campbell indicated he will focus his comments on the health care rights legislation and how to protect Social Security. Campbell indicates he opposes efforts to privatize Social Security as it would have led to reduced benefits to today's seniors.

He also has challenged his opponent, incumbent 5th District Congressman Steve King (R-Kiron) to debate and King has refused.
